Isa Nielsen, born in Denmark and raised in Brazil, is a celebrated rock guitarist and singer known for her powerful riffs and dynamic stage presence. She began playing guitar at 14 and quickly made a name for herself in the Brazilian music scene. Isa gained prominence as a member of the all-female thrash metal band Volkana and has collaborated with various notable artists.

Her influences include metal bands like Sepultura and Metallica, as well as guitar legends Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Isa’s Brazilian heritage also adds a unique flavor to her music. She has performed at major festivals, jammed with Steve Vai, and received international recognition, including a feature by Guns N’ Roses.

Despite challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, Isa continues to create and perform music, launching an online guitar course and releasing new compositions. Her journey is marked by passion, dedication, and a distinctive blend of metal intensity and virtuoso guitar techniques.

Career

Early Career and TV Appearances: Isa began her career in Brazil, playing in the backing band for the TV show “Idols” and participating in MTV’s reality shows “Rocka Rolla” and “World Rock Day”.
Band Memberships: She was a former guitarist for the band “Detonator e as Musas do Metal,” performing at the 2012 MTV VMB and recording for the album “Detonator – Metal Folclore” and the double DVD “Live inSana”
Volkana and Metal Mania: Isa joined the all-female thrash metal band Volkana and Robertinho de Recife’s band Metal Mania, performing across Brazil and gaining a dedicated fan base
International Recognition: In 2017, she jammed with legendary guitarist Steve Vai during his soundcheck in São Paulo. In 2018, she participated in the Samsung Best of Blues and Rock festival, opening for artists like Tom Morello and John 5
Social Media Spotlight: Guns N’ Roses featured her rendition of “Sweet Child o’ Mine” on their social media platforms, which garnered over 3.6 million views on Facebook
Rock In Rio and NAMM: Isa performed at Rock In Rio in 2019 and showcased her talents at NAMM, an international music industry event.
Online Presence and Education: During the pandemic, Isa launched an online guitar course and continued to release new music, including her single and music video “Leech” in 2023.
